Normally, we take in new members at the start of a School Term. Depending on how old your child is when we are looking for them to start will depend on which section they go into.
Most new members come into Beavers first and this happens once they are 5 years and 9 months old. When determining start dates, we use the dates 1st January, 1st April and 1st September. When your child joins, we ask for an initial joining fee of £35. This helps to cover the initial costs of necker, badges and a contribution to the annual membership fee that we (1st Holmes Chapel) pay to the Scout Association every year for each young person in our group.
One way to ensure your child joins as soon as possible is if you (as an adult) volunteer in the group in some way. Please see our Volunteers section for details of how you could help.
